I Love My Dad

Most of the mini shows on YouTube are absolutely inane. Buxom women with accents talking about dating advice or degenerate juveniles with chipmunk voices and the like.

But this one by college freshman KevJumba perfectly captures being Asian-American, with great comic timing. The 2nd video below is hilarious -- it's all about interracial dating, which is a hot button for Asian parents.

Little Sheep Hotpot with Rich, Sherms, Pooks & Co.

So much good food at Little Sheep Hotpot tonight in San Mateo. With so many people in town from elsewhere (Shanghai, Seoul, Chicago, Boston) -- it was a mini-reunion of our Stanford friends.

Also of note: San Mateo's downtown has shaped up nicely. It's 2 long streets of restaurants, dessert places, shops and random stuff to do (theater, billiards, etc). I wouldn't mind living around there. It's kind of like what University Ave in Palo Alto wishes it could be.

On the 6:30am Chinatown bus with @dcurtis back to Boston

The bus is full. For $15 from NYC to Boston, I am not surprised! How they can do this in an era of $4 per gallon gas is beyond me.

Gotta finish packing and shipping the last of my stuff and get to the airport this afternoon to go back home. It is going to be an incredibly long and tedious.

Modern art is a disaster area.

The thing I hate the most about advertising is that it attracts all the bright, creative, and ambitious young people, leaving us mainly with the slow and self-obsessed to become our artists. Modern art is a disaster area. Never in the field of human history has so much been used by so many to say so little.

OMG anthropologie was not designed with me in mind

I'm sitting on the boyfriend couches at Anthropoloie marvelling at an amazing set of books that have no relevance to me at all.

A sampling of titles:
The Art of Being a Woman: A simple guide to everyday love and laughter. How to live like a lady: lessons in life, manner, and style. What I know now: extraordinary women share the wisdom they'd had when they were younger.

And my personal fave: Males, Nails, and Sample Sales.
